Dundee Council
Primary 1/2
Welcome to P1/2
We are all back to school after a lovely summer break and are excited about the learning journey we are going to be on in primaries 1 and 2. Our teacher this year is Mrs Soutar.
The four capacities
Curriculum fo Excellence is going to help us to become; confident individuals, effective contributors, responsible citizens and successful learners.
Leaders of Learning!
We love to learn in primary 1/2. We are always coming up with ideas and suggestions which will extend and consolidate our learning.
Curriculum for Excellence
This year we are beginning to follow the new curriculum which means lots of active learning. We have lots of Maths and Language games in our room which we can use to help us in our learning.

Family rhythm banking
We had a busy afternoon making a family rhythm bank. We produced a music book with all of our rhythm banks and this is in our music corner where we can practise rhythm making.
Have a go!
You can rhythm bank with any topic, it's great fun, have a go at home. Maybe you could even make instruments to play your rhythms on!
The 5 Senses
Our topic this term is helping us all to learn about how we use our senses. We use our ears to listen, our eyes to see, our hands and skin to touch, our tongues to taste and our nose to smell.

Peer Learning
Sometimes we can learn new things from our friends and peers. When we work together we have fun and can share ideas.
We love PE!
We are enjoying using the apparatus in the gym hall and are thinking about travelling using jumps and rolls. We are also working on balances.
Learning about and revising shapes.
We had fun making hama bead shapes and shape pictures during an active maths lesson.
